Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed her role. However, her parents did not let her perform until she reached the age of adulthood, for fear of the negative effects that stress could have on their daughter. Perry she was timid to perform in the school, began to perform in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to meet new people. When she graduated, Perry went into New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought the actress back to California and she was able to find theatre jobs. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway as a couple for the play The Other Place, in 2013. The father of her Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie with her in 2015. Perry appeared in nine episodes of the ABC drama The Family in 2016. In 2017, she starred in a recurring role on her own ABC Political thriller Scandal starring her father. That same year her character was cast a younger version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen model of the mother's role. Despite having a family connection to the character she received the role through an audition.
